Circadian Contraption

Circadian Contraptions Day 202

Nightmare fuel. There’s not much that can describe this contraption better than these two words. pix2pix set up an awesome but horrifying tool where your line drawings get converted into “realistic” faces. I use the term realistic very freely here, I am aware of this. The picture shown here is a combination of 3 line … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 201

A while ago I showed a pictured of colored gel balls in a glass. Over the last few weeks, they have dried out a bit, but interestingly enough, not all dry out at the same tempo. Due to contact with the others, lower in the glass, more moist available there, the top dried faster and … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 200

Today’s contraption is not much to see I’m afraid. I’ve been trying to print with nylon for a while now and finally made some progress. At a temperature of 245 degrees, a heatbed at 60 degrees and the strongest hairspray i could find, it finally stuck. Unfortunatly, Nylon is very sensitive to humidity and will … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 199

The clearing two streets behind where I live always has bunnies sitting around. You can’t get real close, but i usually snap picture when i have the time. This time one sat relatively close when i took the picture. So today’s contraption is an edit of that picture I snapped.

Circadian Contraptions Day 198

Today’s contraption, oddly enough, is wrapping paper. My nieces new (and home printed) glow in the dark gift will get a suitable wrapping, also glow in the dark and with her name embedded in the box. The top of the box is still printing, so I don’t have a proper picture of that yet.

Circadian Contraptions Day 197

I’m still working on spinners. This time I made one with a little grip on it, by adding some texture to the outside border. There’s a couple of overlapping polygons which prevent me from cutting out the text i wanted embedded on it, but I’m not giving up quite yet on that.

Circadian Contraptions Day 196

A friend of mine (moon) made an awesome picture of the moon shining through the trees and power lines. I made the night darker, the light stronger and the contrast higher to get what i think is a very dark and mysterious, but beautiful image.

Circadian Contraptions Day 195

I’ve received the optical zoom lens for my phone, a neat little snap-on zoom lens that came with a small tripod. The picture inside the frame is made with that lens, and the tripod that the frame rests is what you can put the phone on. The frame itself was 3d printed for another project. … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 194

I’ve been so happy printing all these little spinners that others designed, i thought it was about time to design my own. It’s a very simple design so far, but I kinda like the look and feel of it. It’s printing now, and I already know i got the size wrong (its slightly too small … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions day 193

Most of today was spend working on a new material for my printer. I have some lovely black nylon that i can print with, that has the prettiest shine to it as well. Its sturdier than PLA, but it needs some extra settings. Unfortunately, I’ve not figured out how to prevent warping, so my preferred … Continue reading »
