Circadian Contraptions Day 158

Can you tell I love cartoons yet? Here’s another one, to partner yesterdays cow. The quality i think is a bit lower, but you can still recognize the very iconic characteristics I think.

Circadian Contraptions Day 157

When drawing cartoon style characters I have a habit of “sketching” every line. With this I mean that I draw a tiny bit of the line, and go back and forth over it applying little pressure to expand on it. I’ve been told that this is a bad habit and its better to make broader, … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 153

What is Abbot without Costello? What is Tom without Jerry? What is Laurel without Hardy? Not half as fun as they are together I say. Hence my contraption of today, Dexters counterpart, Deedee!

Circadian Contraptions Day 152

Back to the old drawing board again. Kind of a fitting remark to go with this little boy genius. Turned out pretty much exactly as planned.

Circadian Contraptions Day 150

It’s been a while since I did some actual drawing so here’s me going back to it. It’s the first time i actually used the artists glove I bought a few weeks back, which is a glove that covers just the pinky and the bit of your hand that normally smudges the paper. I’ve already … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 121

Today was another exercise on glass, this time following a tutorial. It looks a lot better i think than the perfume bottle, but its not quite there yet. The shadows and dark/light sections in the refraction’s miss a certain coherence. I’ll keep at it though.

Circadian Contraptions Day 120

I’ve tried to work on drawing from vision today. I’ve got this perfume bottle that has a “leather” cover on one side, and glass on the other. I’ve tried to draw it, but I’m not too happy with the results. I don’t know how to make it better without starting over, i might try that … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 103

So I’ve been looking for some blending sticks recently, to supplement my drawing equipment. The store at the train stations (I’ve been traveling a lot the last for days for training) didn’t seem to have any. So when I started googling i ran into a tutorial on how to make them myself. I’ve made 2 … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions day 95

Valentine is upon us, and when looking for inspiration on what to draw today its not long before you come to the “hearts” and “roses”. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I set forth to do thus, but with a little bit of what I hope is a unique and interesting … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 91

As I’ve shown last week I need to work on eyes. Not so much the quality of the eyes, but just to make a matching set. Today I’ve worked on that a bit. I’ve tried some eyes of different shapes and levels of detail, from rather complex to pretty darn simplistic. Just by putting down … Continue reading »
