As I’ve mentioned I’ve been moving around a lot last week, and at one station, I saw a rather nice looking building, which I managed to get a tilted photo of whilst passing it. Add a bit of magic, and here’s the result
Circadian Contraptions Day 106
Circadian Contraptions Day 105
I’ve been traveling a lot the last few days and I’ve made some pictures on the way that I’ve hoped to be able to use as contraptions. One of them was obviously of my coffee cup and the train window, but it made me think what else could be visible outside. I’ve pondered a space journey, but this came out best. I’ve tried to manipulate the shadows on the cup and the table to reflect the new vista.
Circadian Contraptions Day 104
Today’s contraption is a special request by a friend of mine, who wanted a button for an LGBT friendly twitch channel, but which also indicated a bit more adult content. For the lgbt part she wanted a rainbow flag, and for the adult part she wanted a black collar with a ring. I’ve combined these two and made it into the following contraption.
Circadian Contraptions Day 103
So I’ve been looking for some blending sticks recently, to supplement my drawing equipment. The store at the train stations (I’ve been traveling a lot the last for days for training) didn’t seem to have any. So when I started googling i ran into a tutorial on how to make them myself. I’ve made 2 blending sticks of different materials, and those serve as today’s contraption. One is made of very thin and smooth paper, the other from coarse thick paper. I’ve included the effect they had on each type of pencil. I’ll add though that the coarse stick needed a lot less “rubbing” to get a stronger effect. The coarse one is the upper stick, the bottom was the thin smooth paper.
Circadian Contraptions Day 103
So I kept in theme with yesterday’s picture. When I went to the training in Utrecht this morning I came by an old abandoned building. Using filters, lighting, color curves and a grain effect I think I made this look almost post apocalyptic. I managed to add in my logo as well, though it looses some detail and is maybe not quite recognizable.
Circadian Contraptions Day 102
Combining what I’ve already learned with a new tutorial on the splatters and some advanced layerstacking, I’ve come up with this little diddle here. I like the wild quality it has, the chaos if you will.
Circadian Contraption Day 101
Originally I think 101 stands for year 1, class 1, basically meaning starting at the basics. That’s what I did today when I tried out the 3d options that Photoshop offers. I’m not entirely happy with it yet. there is a “plane” behind the 3d objects that i think is the original outline of the letter. Also, the I is too deep when compared to the other letters. But for now this will do.
Circadian Contraptions Day 99 and 100
It’s time for a late night, double feature, picture show. Which is a fancy way of saying that I completely forget yesterday and making up for it today. Both picture today are animal oriented, although one is a lot clearer than the other in that respect. I took a picture of my sisters young kitten and used my new program Lightroom to make it visually more interesting (and cute!).
For the other contraption i took a single butterfly wing who’s picture I took at Hortus in Leiden, and tried to make an interesting abstract from it.
Circadian Contraptions Day 98
A couple of days ago I used a picture of a flower I made in Roos Wijnen her garden last summer. It inspired me to do a bit more with it, but I also wanted to keep the original as a comparison for how much it changed. Using a layer mask with agradient, smart objects and the raw camera filter i think I managed to get quite a nice result.
Circadian Contraptions Day 97
Yesterday someone commented that i should do something with Dr Who in it. Now I happened to have this Sonic Spork lying around (as apposed to his Sonic Screwdriver), which i decided to have some fun with. So I’ll leave you with this question, what would be the better digging device?
