Circadian Contraptions Day 200
Today’s contraption is not much to see I’m afraid. I’ve been trying to print with nylon for a while now and finally made some progress. At a temperature of 245 degrees, a heatbed at 60 degrees and the strongest hairspray i could find, it finally stuck. Unfortunatly, Nylon is very sensitive to humidity and will … Continue reading
Circadian Contraptions Day 198
Today’s contraption, oddly enough, is wrapping paper. My nieces new (and home printed) glow in the dark gift will get a suitable wrapping, also glow in the dark and with her name embedded in the box. The top of the box is still printing, so I don’t have a proper picture of that yet.
Circadian Contraptions Day 195
I’ve received the optical zoom lens for my phone, a neat little snap-on zoom lens that came with a small tripod. The picture inside the frame is made with that lens, and the tripod that the frame rests is what you can put the phone on. The frame itself was 3d printed for another project. … Continue reading
Circadian Contraptions Day 194
I’ve been so happy printing all these little spinners that others designed, i thought it was about time to design my own. It’s a very simple design so far, but I kinda like the look and feel of it. It’s printing now, and I already know i got the size wrong (its slightly too small … Continue reading
Circadian Contraptions Day 192
Another day, another spinner. This one took a lot of trial and error. Due to the intricate corners of it, it failed quite a few times before i got a proper version working.
Circadian Contraptions 191
I’m still working with the spinners, but had a small problem today. Not with the print, that went off fine. I’ve printed for the first time with glow in the dark filament, which is fun, but the spinner i printer had a small imperfection (or was simply too tight) for one of the bearings. it … Continue reading
Circadian Contraptions 190
Today’s contraption was a fidget spinner. The bearing cap and the spinner itself were from 2 seperate designs, the outer rings are abex 7 bearings, though i replaced the inner one with a ceramic one. Initially both were crap, but after opening them up and dissolving the grease it spins quite nicely. I’m gonna fidget … Continue reading
Circadian Contraptions Day 189
When I started with my BIQU printer, i had some trouble getting larger prints to work. Turned out I did a bunch of things wrong, amongst which switching two of the towers, making everything print in mirror. Everything is correct now, and I’m printing my first really large print, an office pencil holder (and post-its, … Continue reading
Circadian Contraptions Day 184
Today’s another day of printing and fine-tuning. I’ve rearranged the nozzle a bit so there’s more space between the heat-block and the radiator block, cleaned out the installation, got the new print-bed sticker and auto-leveler installed and found a way to still properly tighten the tiny screw in the heat-block that was giving me trouble … Continue reading
Circadian Contraptions Day 179
I’m still wanting to get a proper build of that Torii that I’ve tried twice before. But by now I’ve realized its too fragile to print in one go. So I’ve cut it up, and it is printing. There’s not a complete contraption to show yet, but this should give an indication of the direction … Continue reading
