Sometimes beauty can be very close to home. But sometimes beauty also comes from ugly things. Just over the horizon lies “Westland”, one huge stretch of land filled almost exclusively with greenhouses. What’s so ugly about this you ask? The horizon pollution. There’s no longer any real darkness here, and stars are impossible to see due to all the bleedover light from both the town and the greenhouses. That’s all a bit besides the point though. I took a pretty picture of it this morning, and the uncanny yellow glow gave me the idea of making it even more surreal then it started out as. It was about a year and a bit ago that #professorelemental ‘s ape Geoffrey went missing. On his travel through space and time he dropped in with me for a spell, and was doing his usual monkey business. I managed to capture this picture of him before he went on again.

Taking the photo editing and the juxtapositioning of toys in places one wouldn’t expect to the next level, I’ve added a tiny toy puzzle that I got from a coworker who’s been to Africa to another picture I’ve recently taken. It’s not exactly the right angle, and the lighting isn’t 100% the same, but it does kinda look like the hippo’s are actually part of the picture (if you don’t look too closely)

It’s been getting colder over here, and though I do not care much for snow when trying to get around, I do love the aesthetic of it. There’s not really snow here yet, more like a thin sheet of frozen dew that has descended upon the world and gives everything a nice white sheen. When I was about today for work I found this little windmill, which was just begging to be used for a contraption.

Continuing the lonely teddybear train of thought I started yesterday, I made a series of photo’s that I’ll be editing, of just such a teddybear. Here’s the first one in that series, and the observant ones will notice, that yes, she is wearing the same outfit the girl in the previous picture.

I got inspired by a little girl who made some photographs of a “lonely teddy bear”. and have since begun to take some pictures of stuffed animals and action figures, and edit them to get them to match a certain style. This first picture is Kaylee from firefly, placed in a flowerbed hanging from my balcony, and edited to look more vintage.
