Circadian Contraption Day 101

Originally I think 101 stands for year 1, class 1, basically meaning starting at the basics. That’s what I did today when I tried out the 3d options that Photoshop offers. I’m not entirely happy with it yet. there is a “plane” behind the 3d objects that i think is the original outline of the … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 98

A couple of days ago I used a picture of a flower I made in Roos Wijnen her garden last summer. It inspired me to do a bit more with it, but I also wanted to keep the original as a comparison for how much it changed. Using a layer mask with agradient, smart objects … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 97

Yesterday someone commented that i should do something with Dr Who in it. Now I happened to have this Sonic Spork lying around (as apposed to his Sonic Screwdriver), which i decided to have some fun with. So I’ll leave you with this question, what would be the better digging device?

Circadian Contraptions day 96

Continuing with the idea of toys in unexpected situations, I’ve dropped a giant figurine in the space between the apartment buildings here. The lighting is not 100% in order on both, but i think i got most of it fixed so that it doesn’t look too out of place.

Circadian Contraptions day 95

Valentine is upon us, and when looking for inspiration on what to draw today its not long before you come to the “hearts” and “roses”. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I set forth to do thus, but with a little bit of what I hope is a unique and interesting … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 94

It’s been snowing here, and although I do not care much for snow when traveling, it is very pretty. Today’s contraption was a picture taken from my balcony, which i then made a lot starker in contrast en finally using the outlines made in to the result shown here.

Circadian Contraptions Day 92

I’ve always been a little bit intrigued by vector images. If done well, they look awesome, but when you zoom in just a bit too far, they get an abstract quality to them. On one hand there’s a bunch of squiggly lines and areas that are seemingly disconnected and seem to hold no relation with … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 90

Continuing with yesterdays theme, I made a gear in illustrator, textured it and added some life to it, and then used the same technique as i did yesterday to etch the letters into the copper gear. Finally i added some other gears (not home made) for the background to not be static white. The idea … Continue reading »

Circadian Contraptions Day 89

When I was looking for something to do for today i ran into a tutorial that made text seem like it was etched out of wood. I rather liked the effect of it, so set out to make something similar myself.

Circadian Contraptions Day 85

After a long hiatus DJ Dana is back to DJing at Eden. Having her and her set in mind, i made a simple little thing for her. The DJ Dana text has actual fur (no animals were harmed during the making of this picture), and the back on track is actually following a path i … Continue reading »
